The game world is divided into two halves: North and South Kyrat. Players can issue commands to the tiger to assist them in battle. While in a vehicle, there is the option to drive and shoot at the same time, enabling auto-drive in which the game's AI takes over the role of guiding the vehicle toward the player's objective. The game features an open world environment that is free for players to explore, including forests, rivers, and mountainous terrain.
